• Quick note on Recent Incident

    4/12/13 38CBA Board Chair, Ms. Evette McDonald-McCarthy

This is simply a quick not on the recent incident (shots being fired from a car) that happened on April 6, 2013 at 2pm at the intersection of 38th Street & Chicago Avenue.
We are working diligently with the Minneapolis Police Department and our Crime & Safety Prevention officer on action plans. We are concerned but will not be consumed by those who choose to act negatively.
We have come a long way and will continue our progress and growth. The business owners and residents of this area are strong and we stand together to establish a community where families and neighbors meet to walk to patronize their local stores and celebrate the positive results of our years of efforts to make our neighborhood safe. Law enforcement officers recently congratulated the area on the strides we have made on the corner and its growth and progress. Let us continue with these- efforts by showing up when we have forums or distribute surveys that require your input.

There will be a greater presence of the Minneapolis Police Department in and around the area starting immediately, please go out and get to know those that labor to keep us safe and give support when needed or requested to increase the safety in our area. We are in this together-“United we stand and divided we fall.”
